Late last year, as many of us would know, Google released the most significant change to Google Analytics in the last 15 odd years. Whilst change can be hard and can seem overwhelming, it's important to make sure you are going to have the right data in place as regulation changes take shape and GA as we know it today will disappear!
All the data you have worked so hard to collect today will not be available through GA4. As all of us know data drives decisions, and to make valuable ones you need at least one full year collected in GA4 to make any real long term decisions.
You may think you are already ahead by setting up a simple web stream. Unfortunately this is not like simply adding a code snippet to a page to capture traffic and nothing else - without customized tracking to fit your needs, your data will be there but unusable. It's a good time to revisit your measurement strategy and invest in setting up GA4 for success and future proofing your business going forward.
Let’s not also forget, cookie less tracking is around the corner, with already significant changes made by Apple to tracking permissions - your UA tracking will not be effective in a cookie less future.
